Simple Ways to Get Involved
You can do these with your eyes closed!
 

-> Take guests to a local museum
 
-> Attend local historical events
 
-> Give history and heritage-related gifts such as museum tickets, memberships, or gift shop items
 
-> Frequent businesses housed in and preserving historic buildings
 
-> Shop and visit on Main Street!
 
-> Check the Oregon Historic Sites Database to find historic sites in your next vacation destination
 
-> Read interesting Facts and Stats about Oregon's Heritage 
Complex Ways to Get Involved
These take some time and effort, but are fulfilling and worth it!
 

-> Record, preserve and share your family history through photos, stories, and heirlooms
 
-> Become a member at your favorite museum
 
-> Volunteer for a heritage event and/or organization
 
-> List a building in the National Register of Historic Places 
 
-> Find out about the Oregon Cultural Trust 
 
-> Nominate a person or project for an Oregon Heritage Excellence Award
 
-> Join the Historic Cemetery Volunteer Corps
